
Conducted by one of the Centre's experienced falconers, our "Appreciating Birds of Prey" activity day presents the hands-on opportunity to discover the many aspects of keeping and flying Birds of Prey which have made the pastime a life-long passion for so many.
As a primary step for all Falconers, the course gives an initial insight into many aspects of keeping Birds of Prey, including
• Furniture - jesses, swivels, hoods, gloves etc.
• Accommodation - mews, weatherings etc.
• Bird handling and tying the falconer's knot, etc.
• Experience of flying a Harris Hawk
• Bird management
• Basic training methods
• Health & hygiene
• Preparing for free flight
• Legislation
The price per person including lunch is £100.
