Admission & Displays

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary opens daily from 10.00am to late afternoon, seven days a week. Flying demonstrations and talks take place throughout the day from Easter to end-September, providing a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey, plus a host of friendly pets at Jenny's Ark.

You will also find Red Squirrels, the Raptor Hospital, The Barclays Sensory Garden, an information centre about Owls, a woodland walk, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children including a mini-maze, adventure frame, the popular MeerKat Kastle, plus the famous Owl Barn Gift Shop at S.O.S.

New this Summer is the inclusion of Jenny's Ark Pet Zoo, providing animal fun for the very young - guinea pigs, gerbils, pigmy goats & more.  With the exception of the Woodland Walk during winter, the centre is wheelchair friendly.

There are over 80 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. Our "Come-&-Go" tickets allow you to visit all the attractions between our Flying Demonstrations on the day admission is purchased.

All monies collected are used only for this purpose.

Stonham Barns itself is a great place to spend the day - there are numerous craft & gift shops, a garden centre, adventure golf, soft play barn and a coffee shop, plus plenty of free parking and many traffic-free areas.

The majority of our birds are on display throughout the winter. There are no formal flying demonstrations during the winter months, though (weather permitting) you are welcome to watch as we exercise birds regularly on the flying ground at this time. There will also be meerkat feeding sessions daily. Please ask at reception for details or call ahead on 03456 807 897 for times.

DOGS: As a precautionary measure to preserve the safety of both the birds and visiting canines, we regret that dogs are not allowed in the centre - this includes guide or assistance dogs. Under normal weather conditions we do offer partially shaded and secure kennels with access in full view of our reception staff for the use of visitors' dogs, free of charge. However, due to the unusually hot weather conditions we have withdrawn these from use until further notice.
